When laying network pipelines as transport tunnels and municipal direction at the work site, trenching is carried out. However, in some cases, digging the required trench size is an incomprehensible task, for example, when the pipeline crosses a transport mainline with constant activity, and it is impossible to stop it even for a minimal period of time. What should be done in this situation?

To solve this problem, the following methods of soil development are used: piercing, shield tunneling, horizontal drilling, pressing, as well as pneumatic punching.Below are the most common methods of soil development.1. Piercing. This method involves making a hole by radial compaction of the soil by pressing pipes with a conical tip into it. Pressing is done using a hydraulic jack. The pipe section with the tip is sequentially laid in the trench and after jacking with the jack, it is pressed into the ground for the length of the rod stroke. After the rod returns to its original position, a shampal (pressure pipe) is inserted in its place. Since this process is cyclical, it is repeated.2. Pneumatic punching. This method is carried out using the vibratory action of a special piercing projectile. In other words, such punching is done using a pneumatic puncher. It is a self-propelled machine that forms a borehole with its working body (body).

Under the action of compressed air, the striker makes reciprocating movements and strikes the inner and front end of the body, helping to drive it into the ground.Pneumatic punchers can pass very deep boreholes, the length of which can reach up to 50 m for pipelines up to 300 mm. It should be noted that the use of a pneumatic puncher significantly increases labor productivity compared to commonly accepted methods of trenchless laying of underground utilities.
