Application of plastic grids

Plastic grates are designed for installation in exhaust and drainage systems, made of polypropylene or fiberglass and are commonly used in industrial, civil construction, animal husbandry, mechanical engineering, chemical, food, and oil and gas industries, as well as in automotive and shipbuilding. However, such grates are most often used in pedestrian areas, private garages and bike paths, as well as in landscaping of courtyards, private houses, and country cottages.

Polypropylene grates, which are an economical option, are products that have standard characteristics but also have exceptionally high characteristics in terms of load-bearing capacity and impact resistance.

The standard version of the grates consists of a cast framing profile with 4.5 mm diameter holes designed for fastening with screws of appropriate sizes. The angles of inclination of the horizontal slats of some models of plastic grates can be set and adjusted independently of each other. Additionally, there may be vertical sickle-shaped slats necessary for regulating air flows.

Because this type of grate weighs less than half the weight of a steel counterpart, it is easy to manufacture and its installation is much cheaper. Interestingly, they are so easy and quick to install that the installation can be done independently without the help of professionals with the necessary set of specific tools.
